Streetview has been curated by Manchester blog award-winner, writer and creator of Skyliner, Hayley Flynn. The exhibition brings together over 40 new works presenting alternative, unique and contemporary views of Manchester, and Salford, from a ‘google-streetview’ style perspective, in the form of sketches, embroidery, photography, painting and sculpture.
The exhibition includes work from internationally renowned graphic-illustrator Stanley Chow, a former Manchester-based DJ and now a regular contributor to the New Yorker, plus a Valette-inspired creation from North-West based artist Clare Allan. Plus, Manchester-based artist Mark O’Brien, returns to 2022nq with an awe-inspiring, miniature cardboard model creation of the iconic Church St Records, once a much-loved and distinctively low-fi, budget vinyl retailer in Manchester, with a cult following and unforgettable character.
The exhibition also features original and vibrant cartoon creations from Manchester-born, Los-Angeles based cartoonist, Luke McGarry, the youngest ever recipient of the National Cartoonists Society’s Silver T-Square prize. Additional works in the exhibition have been selected via a call for submissions, and have culminated to create an eclectic variety of views of Manchester and Salford for all to enjoy.
